Why should I choose digital invitations over traditional ones?

There is no better way to set the tone for your wedding or event than with a specially designed online invitation. Just imagine... you're holding a hollywood themed shindig... the invitation opens on your guest's computer with a MGM inspired tune, and images of you looking like an absolute star (which, of course, you are). The guests then see an interactive film reel with all your event information. Your invitation has been specially created to reflect the style and theme of the event. Truly spectacular and personal!

Which brings us to our next point. The amount of information you can store on an online invitation is far beyond that of a paper invitation (unless you are sending them a whole book). Music, photos, stories, tributes, registry information, maps and directions, videos, RSVP links... the sky is the limit!

Online invitations are an excellent way to save on paper and the environment. We also have a range of 100% post consumer recycled papers to choose from for those who prefer CD invitations in the post. Big events can leave a big dent on the environment so it is always good to be on the look out for ways to minimise this impact.

Can I have my invitations in another language?

Absolutely! We can organise with you to have the text in any language you would like (except perhaps pig latin - that's too icky-tray lol). Contact isentu and we can discuss your requirements in detail.

What about if some people have older computers - will the CD invitations still work?

Of course! I-sent-u invitations are designed to work even on the most basic computers. We don't rely on Flash, rather the browser's standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript (excuse the nerd speak). Invitations will look a lot better or modern browsers, but fails gracefully in older browsers like IE6. The invitation will look as close to the original design as possible, and all of your information will still be there.

We have made a special effort to make i-sent-u invitations work with JavaScript disabled and even in text-based browsers! This means that any visually impared guests using screen readers will still be able to access your invitation information.

How do isentu invitations compare to traditional invitations in terms of price?

Traditional invitations vary greatly in price depending on a number of factors. For example, if you are planning to DIY, you may save yourself a little by purchasing your paper and embellishments and putting the hard work in yourself. If you are planning to order invitations from a printer or from an online invitation company, the price can really start to build up. For most online invitation websites the price seems to vary from about $3 - $14 per invitation. And these costs are before you have added RSVP cards, envelopes and registry cards.

At i-sent-u, we try and keep our costs as low as possible. For a complete custom designed invitation we charge a fee of $60 AUD. For invitations that are from our gallery, you can expect to pay around $25 AUD for birthday invites and around $35 for weddings (which offer more features).

How do online invitations work?

You will need to email your guests with the link to your invitation. Your guests will click on this link and will be asked to type in your name to access the invitation. The reason we get you to email your guests is so that you do not have to give your guest's information to us. Your guests can RSVP to the event with their name, but at no point do they disclose their email address or other details. This gives your guests peace of mind.

Your invitation will then begin, with music setting the scene. Guests can then click on the different tabs to access maps and directions, your gallery or to RSVP online to your event.

What about privacy? I don’t want anyone else accessing my invitation.

Only the people that have your URL and name will be able to access your invitation online and you cannot find the invitation using a search engine. This minimises the chance of uninvited people accessing your information.

Is there a limit to what I can include in my customised invitations?

The only limit is your imagination (and possibly screen size).

Note: it is a REALLY good idea to use i-sent-u for destination weddings as you can include the itinerary for the trip, printable maps, flight information etc.
